Increase your Broadband Internet bandwidth for Windows XP operating system. Most of them use PPoE internet connection PPoE stands for Point-to-Point Over Ethernet normally it is called as broadband internet connection.
Steps to increase internet bandwidth for windows xp system
Make sure that you have Administrator previleges for your account.
start —> run —> and type “gpedit.msc” without double quotes.
You can find “local computer policy ” on left side and navigate to administrative templates
Next navigate to administrative templates —>Network—>QoS Packet Scheduler
You can find “Limit reservable bandwidth” on right side.
Double click on Limit reservable bandwidth and you will get a window as show below.
By default Limit reservable bandwidth will show as not configured but by default windows will take 20% bandwidth for like updates etc..
So enable Limit reservable bandwidth and set bandwidth limit to 0%
Now click ok and it is done.
